Required skills -

Need a candidate heavy in Applied Mathematics, OR even an engineering grad who has specialized in mathematics/ statistics..

Should know the probability theory and estimation/classification methods.

Should be experienced with mathematical modeling for any systems( genetics system would be perfect)

Should be able to understand and use mathematical and probability for the systems.

Hands on Experience with data analysis software such as Matlab or R (exp. with procedural language such as C++ may also work)

Senior Data Scientist with an excellent foundation in probability theory and estimation/classification methods.

Responsibilities:

· Participate in research efforts into building probabilistic models for next generation sequencing platforms

· Leverage accurate probability models to build the next round of algorithms and products

· Move products through the full development process, from research through commercial launch

· Contribute to our intellectual property portfolio

· Drive rigorous data analysis effort and support group efforts toward high quality documentation

· Help develop and guide molecular biology experiments

MUST HAVE’s:

· PhD in applied math, engineering, statistics, or similar

· Excellent foundation in probability theory and estimation/classification methods

· Proven ability to apply mathematical principles to solve real estimation problems and implement practical solutions

· Experience with data analysis software such as Matlab or R (could be replaced by extensive experience in a procedural language such as C++)

· Excellent communication skills and the desire to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment

· Desire to learn about genetics, sequencing technologies, etc

Additional useful background (not required):

· Experience with a high level programming language such as Java

· Experience with a database query language such as SQL
